Teaching Your Pets To Do Tricks

Hello, my name is Simone Walters. Welcome to my website about training your pets to do tricks. All animals can learn how to do tricks if you use the right approach to training. When I train my pets, I use clickers to mark the correct movements that I want to link to a command word. Then I give my pets praise and treats to reward them for a job well done. Although I prefer this training method, there are many others to consider. On this site, I will cover all the different types of ways to train your pets to do tricks. Come back soon to learn more.

What Should You Look For In A Horse Trailer?

Buying your first horse trailer is exciting. Instead of being limited in how far you can travel with your horse, you can now pack up and go. You must be careful when selecting your trailer though. Regardless of if you are buying new or used, there are some things to look out for. Here are a few tips to help you select the right trailer.

Assess Your Horse

It might sound obvious, but there are far too many horse owners who end up with trailers that are not the right size for their horses. To avoid an uncomfortable ride for your horse, take the time to assess it.

While assessing your horse, take notes. Write down its length and height. You want to think about how much room will be required for your horse to comfortable extends its legs and raise its head.

You also want to consider the weight of your horse. The durability of trailers can vary. If your horse's trailer is not strong enough to hold its weight, you could be faced with buying a new trailer sooner than expected.

In addition to these things, you want to think about what it will take for the trailer to be considered comfortable by your horse. For instance, is there enough ventilation? A trailer can become heated quickly and this could cause your horse distress. You will need to focus on trailers that offer the ventilation and security needed.

Select the Ramp Trailer

When it comes to horse trailers, you can choose between a step-up or ramp trailer for loading the horse. With a step-up trailer, there is a possibility that your horse could accidentally skin its leg. The injury could cause the horse to kick as it is being loaded or unloaded.

By contrast, a ramp will give the horse the room needed to safely board and exit the trailer. If you do opt for the ramp, make sure the surface is non-slip. If you do decide to choose the step-up, consider buying a ramp as an add-on. You can test the difference out between using it and not using it to get a better understanding of why a ramp could be safer.

You also want to think about your own safety. Make sure the ramp does not have a huge gap between the trailer and the ramp. If there is one, you could slip and hurt yourself. Contact a company, like Lakota of Ohio , for more help.
